Fees

The fee for your anaesthetic is separate from those paid to your surgeon and to the hospital at the time of your procedure.

Most anaesthetic procedures will attract an additional out-of-pocket expense otherwise known as a “Gap” which represents the shortfall between the total fee charged by the anaesthetist, and the amount that the private health insurer reimburses for that service. The extent of the “Gap” varies depending on the nature, complexity and duration of the scheduled surgery. Our practice provides transparency regarding anaesthetic fees by giving patients an estimate of expected out-of-pocket costs prior to surgery.
